A hotel restaurant?
With Michelin stars?
The famous chef Berasategui in Barcelona?
Restaurante Lasarte at the Hotel Condes in Barcelona opened its doors in January 2006, and just four years later in November 2009, it was awarded its second Michelin star. Lasarte is much more than chef Martín Berasategui’s gastronomic vision for Barcelona. It is a spiritual project with the very best team of professionals at its forefront that strives to delight its diners with every aroma and flavour.
The large murals inspired by Gaudí’s elegant paving stones on the Paseo de Gracia remind us of the restaurant’s Barcelonan essence, although, interestingly enough, it is named after the town of Lasarte where the Basque chef opened his first restaurant. Located in the centre of the city, Lasarte is a peaceful oasis where your five senses can enjoy dishes prepared with the very best produce and the desire to strive for excellence in conveying the passion for a job well done with every dish. The aim is to provide a culinary experience to accompany the best soirée.
The main characteristics of the restaurant are its elegance and intimacy. It only seats 30 diners between its bright main dining room and a second versatile dining room which can be reserved.
Our main purpose is to create an unforgettable gastronomic experience... comme il faut.
Our recipe for success is quite simple: work, strive, feel, listen, talk, taste, observe, thrill, improve, excite, think, imagine, inspire, decorate, pamper, reflect, research and work - work contentedly, eagerly, intelligently and intuitively to convey the flavours of the very best gastronomic experience to eager palates comme il faut.
Nature knows best and we follow its rules. Our obsession is to work with the best produce offered by nature, the sea and the seasons, and transform it into a gastronomic experience. Each dish is created with passion, respect and care.
Our red prawns, for example, come to the restaurant directly from the fishing boat. Our chefs serve them with a sea urchin flan bathed in sheep’s milk caviar, and it is ready to set sail to the table on a black board. The aim is to inundate the palate with flavours and sensations and recreate the ocean in the minds of the most inquisitive diners. Achieving our second Michelin star was a source of great pride, but where we really strive to shine is in the restaurant’s dining room, and there is no better reward for us than seeing our guests dazzle us with their smiles of pleasure when asked if they enjoyed their meal.
Paolo Casagrande & Joan Carles Ibáñez: harmony and hope under the same atmosphere.
Paolo Casagrande is our chef de cuisine. With his characteristic passion, he combines Martín Berasategui’s signature classics with his own innovative dishes specially created for Lasarte. His career has been characterised by his depth of commitment, consistency and considerable hard work.
Joan Carles Ibáñez and his front of house team are the kitchen’s ambassadors in the dining room, whose purpose is to create and maintain a harmony that permeates all areas, much like a silent orchestra in which every instrument plays its part in enhancing the dining experience.
